How-to guide

Estimates and estimate requests

The audited build includes both standard estimates and a separate estimate-request workflow. Together they cover request intake, estimate drafting, email sending, PDFs, notes, reminders and conversion into invoices.

Where to click

Use these menu paths first, then complete the action from the screen you open.

Sidebar > Sales > Estimates
Sidebar > Sales > Estimate Request
Quick answerThese are the fastest verified steps for this task in the current Proplix build.

Exact steps

  1. Go to Sidebar > Sales > Estimates when you need to create or manage a direct estimate.
  2. Use Sidebar > Sales > Estimate Request when you are handling estimate requests before conversion.
  3. Create a new estimate from the estimates page, complete the customer, items and amounts, then save or send it.
  4. If you start from an estimate request, review the request details first and then convert it into an estimate when ready.
  5. After sending, track acceptance or next-step sales activity from the estimate record.

What this feature does

  • Estimates support table and pipeline views, notes, PDF generation, expiry reminders, email sending and conversion to invoice.
  • Estimate requests have their own table, statuses, forms and conversion actions.
  • Both controllers support follow-up data updates rather than being limited to a single draft step.
  • Estimate numbers and due-date helpers are part of the verified controller actions.
  • Estimate requests can be used as structured intake before a formal estimate is created.

What to do next

  • Once an estimate is converted, continue the commercial workflow from Invoices and Payments.
  • For a more flexible non-estimate commercial document, also review the Proposals guide.
