Before you begin
Review allocations and source entries before acting on an overdue total or an amount shown as payable to a landlord.
Follow these steps
- Read Rent receivable, Rent receipts and Overdue totals.
- Review the ageing buckets to distinguish recent and older outstanding rent.
- Select a property in Property statement and choose Open statement.
- Compare cash receipts, operational costs, net before payout, landlord payouts recorded and balance after payouts.
- Check outstanding rent separately from cash income and recorded payouts.
Check the result
You can explain the balance from its component entries and identify the correct outstanding rent.
If something does not look right
The statement is an operational calculation, not a bank reconciliation or a statutory client-money certificate. Cost and payout entries can affect the calculation regardless of whether an external transfer has occurred; verify their native/payment evidence.
Questions and answers
Does charged rent count as cash income?
The statement separates rent charged/outstanding from receipt/payment credits.
How is balance after payouts calculated?
Recorded income minus operational costs minus recorded landlord payouts.
Are deposits rent income?
Deposits are tracked separately in the statement calculation and should not be treated as ordinary rent receipts.
